Saskatoon Meewasin
Biography

Nathaniel Teed was elected as the MLA for Saskatoon Meewasin in a 2022 by-election.

Nathaniel is a small business owner and teacher. Prior to entering politics, he was an advocate for the local business community in Saskatoon. He also worked to raise awareness about the need for increased education funding, smaller class sizes, and adequate resources for kids in the classroom.

Nathaniel attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned a Bachelor of Education. After working as an educational assistant and teacher, he worked as an arts and culture fundraiser in Saskatoon and advocated for his union colleagues as a shop steward for CUPE 59.

Nathaniel was born and raised in Saskatoon. His grandparents, Genevieve (a social worker) and Loren Teed (an educator and artist), were actively involved in the formation of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party, and were on the front lines of the fight for Medicare. Genevieve was one of the founding members of the Saskatoon Community Clinic. Today, he carries forward their legacy.

Nathaniel is proud to be the  first openly gay MLA in Saskatchewan’s history.

Nathaniel lives in Saskatoon with his partner, James. For nearly a decade, they have owned and operated a furniture and design store, a small business located in Saskatoon’s downtown core.
